Have you ever heard of Malaysian Healthy Plate? It is a healthy plate designed by the Ministry of Health of Malaysia for the purpose of helping our people to attain a more balanced diet. Now, let’s find out with PhytoFairy to see what kind of food does our healthy plate consist of, shall we?

In Malay, there is a formula for our healthy plate which is called “suku suku separuh” and we call it “quarter quarter half” in English, meaning that we divide the plate into 3 parts: quarter, quarter and half. As we can see, a quarter of the plate is composed of protein whereas the other quarter constitutes carbohydrates while the other half is to be filled with vegetables and fruits. Of course, don't forget to have your meal with a glass of sugar-free drink too!

Quarter Plate with Protein:

Protein consists of fish, legumes, meat and eggs. Remember when PhytoFairy reminded us the protein option should prioritize legumes over fish, eggs and meat. It may help us reduce the intake of saturated fat and we are advised to have approximately a palm-sized portion of protein in each meal.

Quarter Plate with Carbohydrates:

Carbohydrates include rice, noodles, breads, whole grains such as wheat, oat and tubers, for instance, potatoes, pumpkins and corn. Besides that, we also need to be aware that red beans and mung (green) beans are also considered as carbohydrates! And, to have whole grains as the replacement of refined carbs is also a great choice. We are recommended to have a fist-sized portion of carbohydrate in each meal.

Half Plate with Vegetables and Fruits:

Vegetables and fruits take up half of the plate, which is around a full palm-sized portion. The World Health Organisation (WHO) also suggests 3 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruit per day.

A Glass of Drink:

We are recommended to choose from drinking water, sugar-free drink or milk.

PhytoFairy understands that busy lifestyles and our eating habits may contribute to an imbalanced diet. If you are unable to have your meals on time, PhytoFairy suggests taking a sachet of PhytoNutri and a sachet of Phyto Greens so that it may provide you with a better and more complete nutritional intake.

There are 21 types of natural beans and whole grains in PhytoNutri which may help to provide us with great protein whereas in Phyto Greens there are 12 types of plant extracts that help in providing us with micronutrients. Also, remember to have your proper meal once you are done with work!

This is all about the healthy plate designed by The Ministry of Health of Malaysia. I hope that everyone can refer to the portion suggested in order to achieve a healthier and balanced diet.
